The booths will display crafts, traditional costumes, music and dance, tourist information, snacks and drinks typical of their countries or regions, etc.
This year, the 27th edition of this festival takes place, which brings many residents and tourists together to participate. Music and dance artists from Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions and local Lusophone artists will present performances on the two stages installed in the Festival.
At the event location, the participating public will also be able to taste the gastronomic specialties of Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions and participate in Portuguese Traditional Games, Table Football Tournaments and Recreational Games for Children.
The festival’s history is traced back to June 10th, 1998, which is Portuguese National Day. It was established to pay tribute to Macau’s Portuguese-speaking population. The event has evolved throughout the years, and it has become a significant day for sharing Portuguese culture with the Chinese community. It also plays an important role in highlighting the cultural exchange between the two nations, which has contributed to the growth of Macau.
The event usually takes place over a weekend in October each year, though dates and venues may change, so be on the lookout for upcoming events. Many shows will occur at Largo do Carmo, Taipa Houses, Taipa Municipal Garden, and other heritage sites around town. Talented artists from abroad will also perform breathtaking shows, so there will be so much to look forward to.
