The National Day of the People’s Republic of China is an obligatory holiday in Macau.

It takes place yearly every October 1^st, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.

It’s a holiday with deep historical significance, as this day in 1949 was when Chairman Mao Zedong announced the founding of the People’s Republic of China while standing on the Tiananmen Gate in Beijing.
