The Macau General Post Office is a historic building adjacent to Senado Square.
Its origins date back to 1884 when the old Macau Post started overseeing the local telephone and telegraph services.

Today, they still function as many important financial, administrative, and regulatory services for the public postal service, so if you find yourself needing postal services during your trip, they will be more than happy to accommodate you.
The Macau General Post Office also functions as a credit institution. However, the building itself wasn’t built until 1929. It’s an exemplary work of neo-classical architecture similar to other colonial heritage buildings, designed by the first Chinese chief architect, Jose Chan, whom the Macau Land and Sea Public Works Department tasked.
They have also adapted to modern times, providing express and electric post services. Visitors can also visit the building to look at beautiful postcards and stamps, which can be worthwhile, especially for those who are into collecting.
The office can be visited on the Macau Government Tourist Office self-walking tour, which takes you through the city’s historic centre. When planning your trip, keep in mind that the post office is open during the week from 9am through 6pm, and on Saturdays, they are only operating until 3pm.
