Koi Kei Bakery

English: Koi Kei Bakery, Portuguese: Pastelaria Koi Kei, Traditional: 鉅記餅家

Koi Kei Bakery is an excellent traditional snack store specialising in Macanese and Chinese snacks.

It was established by Leoung Chan-Kuong, who immigrated from China and began selling ginger candy and peanut brittle while on a pushcart on Macau’s streets.

By 1997, he opened the first store, and in 2004 the business expanded internationally. Their specialties have grown to include almond biscuits, egg rolls, beef jerky, preserved fruit, moon cakes, and many other traditional Chinese cakes. With more than 300 products, it has undoubtedly become Macau’s most famous pastry and snack shop.

A visit to Macau would not be complete unless you stop by the Koi Kei Bakery. They constantly innovate to develop new recipes and products, so there is always something new to look forward to. Their recent innovations include orange peel cake, assorted nuts, walnut cookies, Portuguese pineapple pastry, nougat, and more.  They have almost 30 shops in the country, plus five more in Hong Kong.

Because of their dedication to producing high-quality pastries, they have been recognised with numerous awards over the years. These include the 2019 Hong Kong Service Awards, Most Popular Choice For Food in the Best Gift Shop Competition 2019, Outstanding Strategic Awards 2017 by East Weekly, and dozens more.

They are the number one place to shop for souvenirs to take home, though locals themselves are fond of shopping here to get their dose of delicious local delicacies. Be sure to stop by one of their many branches to bring home a taste of Macau.

Koi Kei Bakery has branches in The Sands, The Venetian in Cotai, and dozens more in other locations.
