The Museum of the Macau Security Forces features a small but interesting display of military equipment and other artefacts that tell the history of the Macau Police Force.
The local security forces have always been an integral part of the government, working tirelessly to promote law enforcement and public safety, and helping handle many government activities.

The collection of photos is rather fascinating as you’ll get a peek into what the police forces were like back in its early days. The building it’s located in was previously known as the Military Museum, though its name was changed in 2004.
The Museum of the Macau Security Forces also has a garden outside, where visitors can relax after the museum. Because the museum is so small, you only need around 20 minutes to see everything. However, it’s worth visiting, especially for history enthusiasts and individuals with a special interest in police force history.
Afterwards, you can visit the S. Francisco Garden, only a few steps away. It’s the first public garden established in the country, with origins dating back to 1580. Today, it has a magical ambience thanks to the European-style buildings and the lovely plants and flowers.
From here, head over to the Nam Van Lake either by public transport or car; it’s a bit further away, though the scenic promenade offers fantastic views. The leisure area houses many family-friendly amenities that make it ideal for spending the afternoon.
