The Rua De Cinco De Outubro is a beautiful, historic street north of the World Heritage Area in Macau.
Named after the 1910 Portuguese Revolution, which established the republic, there are many things to discover here.

Much of what you can find at Rua De Cinco De Outubro has remained unchanged, making it a wonderful place to spend time if you want to experience an authentic side of Macau. Afterwards, you can walk over to the iconic landmark of the Ruins of St. Paul’s. It was constructed in 1602, originally out of wood, with intricate decorations and furnishings. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a fire in 1835; though its elegant baroque facade has been left behind, it’s now a World Heritage Site.
The beautiful European-style Senado Square is also nearby and worth a visit. It’s another UNESCO World Heritage Site landmark with numerous historical and heritage buildings. This has become a well-loved destination for strolling around on its cobblestone streets; you can relax and unwind in several shops and cafes. The best time to visit this area is during Chinese New Year, as it comes alive with colourful decorations, dragon dances and more.
Other attractions that are a few minutes away include the Sam Kai Vui Kun Temple and St. Dominic’s Church.
