Grande Praca

English: Grande Praca, Portuguese: Grande Praça, Traditional: 天幕廣場, Simplified: 天幕广场

The Grande Praca is the stunning central plaza of MGM Macau, the heart of the property where guests are connected to all the world-class amenities of the resort casino.

From here, hotel guests and visitors can easily access the best facilities, including entertainment, fine dining, shopping, business amenities, and much more.

The plaza was designed with elements inspired by old Europe and the Portuguese heritage of Macau. For example, the wall on its north was modelled after the central station of Lisbon, known as Estacao Rossio, showcasing many cultural elements of Portugal. It also has a glass dome ceiling showing the plaza with beautiful natural sunlight during the daytime.

The Grande Praca also has a spectacular art installation: the Valkyrie Octopus, designed by a famous Portuguese artist, Joana Vasconcelos. The work was commissioned for the property in 2015 and is now a major highlight at the hotel. The Valkyrie Octopus is 35 meters long and 20 meters high, weighing 1,200 kilograms. It’s made from 4,000 meters of vividly patterned fabrics, including delicate Nisa embroidery from Portugal’s Alto Alentejo region, and there are thousands of LED lights and beads strategically placed to create shapes, textures, and patterns.

When visiting MGM Macau, spend time in this awe-inspiring and stylish central plaza before you admire the hotel’s other features. The hotel is renowned for its numerous authentic art pieces, a five-star spa, seven excellent signature restaurants, and several bars where every craving will be satisfied.

Whether you are visiting for leisure, business, conventions, or family time, you can’t go wrong visiting this incredible destination in Macau.
