The Lin Zexu Memorial Museum of Macao is a small museum dedicated to the famous visit of Lin Zexu, former imperial commissioner, on September 3, 1839.
This was during the reign of Emperor Daoguang, and historically it was a tense time for China.

The museum displays photographs showcasing the old Macau, exhibits of Chinese warships and Portuguese ships, Humen’s smoke sale, and a replica of Lin Zexu’s meeting with Portuguese authorities.
The Lin Zexu Memorial Museum of Macao is located near many popular landmarks. One of these is the Areia Preta Triangular Garden, a small recreational area and park with a pavilion. Various fitness equipment can be used for outdoor workouts, as well as toilets and chess tables. During late afternoons, it’s not uncommon to see elderly locals playing chess here. It’s also a well-loved meeting spot among friends and family living there.
