Some may wonder why the Lord Stows Garden Cafe offers Thai food, which other branches don’t. It’s simply because Andrew Stow, the founder, was such a big fan of Thai food. When the cafe opened in 2006, he asked prestigious chef Sakhorn Saenjaisri to help develop the dishes. Meanwhile, Ieong Im Mui was a renowned local chef who also mentored the menu development. Both of them are instrumental in creating the exquisite flavours in every dish.
This cafe originally opened in another location in Coloane in 2006, named after the small garden behind it. Though they lost ownership of the garden in 2011 due to government issues, they could relocate the restaurant to its new current location, a brighter area whose beauty is enhanced by vibrant murals.
Inside, it has a modern design with cozy furniture. It’s conveniently situated in the heart of Coloane Village, where you can easily access produce stands and other establishments within walking distance.
