The Macao Cultural Center is an important arts and culture destination. It opened its doors to the public in 1999 to showcase contemporary art and musical concerts.

This is Macau’s number 1 venue for watching orchestras and cultural shows.

It’s an iconic landmark with ultra-modern amenities. These include a Grand Auditorium, which can accommodate over 1,000 spectators, and a Small Auditorium that can fit 389 people. These rooms are equipped with the latest in audio-visual technology and simultaneous interpretation services.

The architecture and interiors are notable, too, especially for its minimalist and modern features, with sleek and avant-garde lines that enhance it. The Macao Cultural Center has other significant spaces, including a 200-seat conference room, dance studios, rehearsal room, VIP room, multi-purpose rehearsal room, reception desk, box office, cafe, and Wi-Fi.

It also houses the Macao Museum of Art, which always has impressive classic and contemporary works displayed by national and international artists. It boasts 4,000 square feet of exhibition space divided into three areas: a special gallery, Chinese traditional art, and various displays. In addition, they have a library on-site. They host numerous art events throughout the year, and many of them are done in cooperation with art organisations from abroad.

The Creative Macao – Center for Creative Industries is on the complex’s ground floor. This is another art and exhibition gallery on its own, managed by a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the best of the local arts and culture scene. Collective and private shows are held here.

Check the calendar when you visit because they may be hosting some interesting creative or cultural shows.
