The Pawn Shop Museum next door (Amigos do Jardim Triangulo) is a small but beautiful and charming public garden in Macau.
It’s located north of the Lin Fung Temple and the Mong Ha Park, and its unique triangular shape.
Triangular da Areia Preta Garden, Gazebo, Seating, Gym, Macau
It’s situated in an otherwise busy town, though you don’t feel it amid all this greenery. There are very few green pockets of nature in Macau, and this is one of them.
Check out the Lin Fung Temple when visiting the Triangular da Areia Preta Garden. It was built during the Ming Dynasty in 1592. This temple is one of the most famous in Macau, the others being the Kun Iam Temple and the A-Ma Temple. The Lin Fung Temple has had a rich history, requiring several reparations and undergoing many changes throughout the centuries.
Today, it features a complex of palaces with the Tianhou Palace in the centre, built in honour of the Heavenly Queen. Meanwhile, on its left sits the Emperor Wu Palace, then the Renshou Palace on the right. The numerous other temples inside, such as the Shennong Palace, Yiling Palace, Doumu Palace, and Juyong Palace, were established so people could worship different deities in one place.
Also in the area is the Mong Ha Park, another small, lush green area with trails that lead to what was once an old Portuguese fort. There is a kids’ playground here, toilets, fitness facilities, and old military equipment that is no longer used.
Triangular da Areia Preta Garden and its surroundings have much to offer travellers.
