The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial House in Macau is a stunning museum and historical destination. It pays homage to the respected doctor who was responsible for the republican revolution of China, which successfully dethroned the Qing Dynasty.

He was also the first doctor who practised Western medicine in the country.

The house, once known as the Mansion of Sun, was built in 1912 so that the doctor’s first wife, Lu Muzhen, could live there. He also lived here briefly, though his family and relatives resided here. In addition, the home is where he conducted many important revolutionary activities and meetings.

Meanwhile, the doctor is regarded as the Father of the Nation, and a visit to the museum will be educational as it tells many stories about his life and accomplishments.

The Dr Sun Yat-Sen Memorial House has a unique mock Moorish design featuring elegant wide verandas and stunning courtyards. Inside are three storeys to explore, though all of the interiors and exteriors have been so well preserved that it feels like you’re in another time altogether. It’s open to the public who wishes to visit to learn about his life through the numerous personal belongings on display, as well as photos, letters, books, and newspapers that talk about his life.

This tourist attraction can be visited alone, and you can go on your own self-guided tours.
