The Macao Contemporary Art Center—Navy Yard No. 1 is located near Barra Square and opened its doors to the public in 2016. It is pretty isolated from major tourist attractions. Still, it’s worth visiting to see how they successfully and efficiently remodelled the old dockyard, resulting in an incredible art space in the Macao Peninsula’s southwestern end. They kept the look of its facade, which still looks like a dockyard, though its interiors were revamped well.

It was opened in 2003 by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government to promote art and culture in Macau.
