Coloane Village is a sight to behold with its pastel hues, timeless baroque architecture, and numerous historical attractions.

Back in 1928 when Macau was still under the rule of Portugal, the village was built and named after a missionary who was pivotal in the East’s Christian influences. Take a leisurely stroll around, and you’ll discover gems in every corner: from artisan shops, churches, temples, beaches, and more.

Next, stop by the A-Ma Cultural Village, a massive complex spanning 7,000 square meters and was built to honour A-Ma, or the goddess of seafarers. It houses a temple and a statue of A-Ma.

Coloane attractions have something for visitors of all ages. Families travelling to Macau with children will have an unforgettable time at the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion at Seac Pai Van Park. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see giant pandas and their babies.

If you feel like getting a hike in or perhaps want to burn off some calories from those delicious egg tarts, a hike up to Alto de Coloane is highly recommended. It’s the highest point of Macau, and getting here is an 8km hike to the summit, 171 meters above sea level. Spend some time immersed in the breathtaking views of the South China Sea.

Head over to Hac Sa Beach, on the island’s southern side, to see the beaches. This is perfect for visitors who want to escape the crowds and soak up the breeze. There are also numerous restaurants along the shoreline where you can dine on a sumptuous lunch.

With all these and more, the attractions in Coloane should be at the top of your Macau itinerary.
